We really are spoiled for choice in Brooklyn with an endless offering of outdoor expanses, where you can embrace daytime drinking and make the most of the summer sunshine before it is gone all too soon. While it pains us to choose, here are a few of our favorite BIG outdoor bars and beer gardens!
Nowadays (Ridgewood) via The Gothamist
This outdoor oasis opened up about a month ago and is the ultimate summertime paradise. With picnic tables, grassy hills, and an abundance of trees and fresh air, you’ll feel worlds away from the sprawling city metropolis. It’s just like a giant, suburban backyard where kids can run free, dogs are welcome (on a leash) and there’s ping-pong, checkers and amazing food. Sold.
56-06 Cooper Avenue near Wyckoff.
Crown Victoria (Williamsburg) via BKMAG
There’s no denying that Williamsburg is hot property, so when you find a bar this big and this cool, you almost want to keep it to yourself! We can probably stand to tell a few people though and still get a seat, seeing as Crown Victoria has a 1,000 square foot patio AND a 9,000 square foot backyard. With 24 craft beers on tap (one for each hour? Jks!) and fun events throughout summer like flea markets, movie nights and pig roasts, this spot is the perfect setting for soaking up drinks in the sunshine.

t.b.d. (Greenpoint) via Brokelyn
Not too big, not too small, t.b.d.’s beer garden is just right. The only thing to be decided is what to drink. Happy hour is weekdays from 4-7pm and $4 will get you a pint of any of their 12 draft beers, or a mixed drink with house liquor. Inside there are cozy couches to recline on in the cool air and big TV screens, but the great outdoors is where it’s happening!
24 Franklin St.
Greenwood Park (South Slope) via Thrillist
Beer, bocce, BBQ wings, burgers and bratwurst? Sign us up! Created out of an old gas station and mechanic shop, Greenwood Park has a delicious menu, 60 beers on tap and happy hour noon-7pm on weekdays. This huge 13,000 square foot space is a rustic urban oasis with 3 bocce courts and kids are welcome before 7pm.
